Nets Timberwolves Game Notes

Karl-Anthony Towns won’t be available for today’s game for personal reasons. Towns was previously slated to miss this matchup on Monday as he was attending a memorial for his mother, who passed away from COVID-19 last year.

The Nets’ LaMarcus Aldridge was originally slated to miss Monday’s game due to illness (non-COVID related) and was slated to return on Wednesday against the 76ers. Aldridge will be out for today’s game.

Kyrie Irving had heated words with Laker guard Dennis Schröder on Saturday and was slated to miss the original Monday date for this matchup for personal reasons. He will remain out for today’s game, it’s unknown if Kyrie will return on Wednesday. Kevin Durant returned to action on April 7th and should be available for today’s Nets Timberwolves game.

The Nets are currently 36-17, 2nd in the Eastern Conference as power rankings go. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves are 14-40 in the Western Conference, tied with the Houston Rockets for the worst record in the NBA. Anthony Edwards however, is having a great season and should give Timberwolves fans hope for the future of the team.

The 2020 #1 draft pick is averaging 17.9 points per game. Edwards averaged 24.2 points per game for the month of March and currently averaging 22.3 points per game for the month of April. Edwards scored a season high 42 points against the Phoenix Suns on March 18 for a Timberwolves win.
