Nets superstar James Harden will be out for Game 2 with an injured hamstring. Forward Jeff Green, who missed Game 1 with a plantar fascia strain in his left foot, will also miss Game 2. There’s been rumors swirling that Spencer Dinwiddie might return but Coach Nash has stated the guard isn’t traveling with the team and he hasn’t spoken to him recently.

Blake Griffin was in star form in Game 1 with 18 points on 53.8% FG and 14 rebounds. Griffin also hit 4 of 9 from beyond the arch. He played 35 minutes, way up from his average of 20.2 minutes per game in the first round against the Celtics.

Despite out-rebounding the Nets in Game 1, 58-47, the Milwaukee Bucks shot poorly from the three point line, 6 of 30. Just 20% from beyond the arch, and though they had more free throw opportunities, 19 to 9… They were unable to convert, going 11 of 19 for 57.9% compared to the Nets’ 8 of 9 for 88.9%.

Picture that the Bucks had 15 offensive rebounds to the Nets’ 6. As well as 72 points in the paint compared to the Nets’ 48 and still lost. In fact, at one point, the Nets lead was 19 points. The Bucks’ Antetokounmpo had 34 points, while Durant had 29 points for the game. Khris Middleton had an uncharacteristic night, shooting 6 of 23 for 13 points while Kyrie Irving poured in 25 points on 11 of 26 shots.

Even without James Harden and LaMarcus Aldridge who had a medical retirement prior to the start of the NBA Playoffs… The Nets appear to be the odds on favorite to win this second round playoff series.
