NBA bite size game notes:
The Denver Nuggets defeated the Phoenix Suns 2 out of 3 times in the regular season, with two of those games going to overtime. However, those games still featured Nuggets star guard Jamal Murray, who’s out of for the playoffs. Nuggets Forward Michael Porter Jr. has been on fire in his last two games, scoring 26 points twice against the Trail Blazers.
MVP Candidate Nikola Jokic has been one of the biggest stories in the league of course. Jokic averaged 33 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in six games against the Trail Blazers. Meanwhile, Devin Booker had a major playoff career moment, putting LeBron James’ Lakers out of the playoffs to the tune of 47 points on a scorching 68.7% FG.
Devin Booker has averaged 29.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 5 assists in the first round of the playoffs. Chris Paul will be available for tonight’s game and is rumored to be declining his player option this season after leading the Suns to the second round. Paul will likely look for a multiyear contract this offseason.
Free throws have been a big story this playoffs and both the Nuggets and the Suns shoot over 80%. The Suns averaged 83.9% FT in the first round with 20.7 attempts per game. Meanwhile, the Nuggets averaged 80.8% FT with 24.3 attempts per game.
