NBA bite size game notes:
Nuggets forward Will Barton should be in the lineup against the Suns for Game 2. Barton has dealt with Hamstring issues recently but Nuggets Coach Mike Malone mentioned he had a good practice in a practice Monday.
The Phoenix Suns did most of their damage at the free throw line in Game 1 of this NBA Playoffs second round series. The Suns converted 17 of 20 free throws to the Nuggets’ 5 of 6. Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic finished with 22 points on 43.5% FG shooting along with 9 rebounds and 3 assists. A semi uncharacteristic game for Jokic on the offensive front. Jokic scored 30+ in all but a single game in the first round against the Trail Blazers. Jokic had 2 steals and 3 blocks on the defensive end in Game 1.
Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon had a great game with 18 points on 8 of 14 shots though he was unable to convert from beyond the arch. The Phoenix Suns simply shot the ball better in Game 1 converting 46 of 85 shots for a 54.1% FG percentage. The Suns also pulled down more defensive rebounds than the Nuggets 37 to 30. They barely won the battle of the boards however, 44 to 41, as the Nuggets had more offensive rebounds 11 to 7. This has been your NBABite size game notes for Game 2 ahead of tonight’s NBA Live Stream!
Miles Bridges was the top scorer on both teams for the night, edging out Jokic by one point for 23 points on 8 of 12 shooting. Bridges scored 4 of 8 from beyond the arch in Game 1. Suns star Devin Booker also poured in 21 points of his own on 8 of 12 shooting, coming off a 47 point night against the Lakers.
Paul dished out 11 assists to go along with 21 points on 8 of 14 shooting. DeAndre Ayton similarly finished with 20 points on 9 of 13 shooting while taking down 10 rebounds.
