Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 1 Finale Recap
– The Season 1 finale saw Mami Nanami ‘rent’ Chizuru Ichinose and take her to the Karaoke place Kazuya Kinoshita and Ruka Sarashina work at. It seemed Mami Nanami was sadistically having a go at Chizuru’s job, referencing how she’s the #1 rental girlfriend rookie and giving her an envelope with money early. Telling Chizuru “we can’t enjoy this date with money laying around”.
Eventually, Chizuru confronted Mami about her feelings for Kazuya and if maybe he was the one “to make her happy for the rest of her life”. Mami replied “that’s between her and Kazuya” and walked off. It seemed that Chizuru was actually speaking of her own feelings for Kazuya.
The season finale would conclude with Kazuya confessing Chizuru was the “one he wanted” on the balcony of their dormitory. Cue cliffhanger credits.
Meanwhile, Ruka Sarashina has promised to make Kazuya naturally “fall in love” with her without forcing it… But how much longer will she wait on Kazuya? She seemed quite sad when asked if “she had a boyfriend” or not by patrons attempting to hit on her last episode. Ruka has commented that she knows Kazuya still likes Chizuru Mizuhara early in the episode.
We’ll find out in today’s Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 2 live stream at 2:30 pm ET if Chizuru holds the same real feelings for Kazuya… And if she’ll admit them. Should Chizuru follow through, will Mami sabotage Chizuru’s future?
What are her intentions toward Kazuya? It seems Mami regrets the breakup herself but won’t confess that she still holds feelings for Kazuya.
Nevertheless, Mami now holds all the cards after discovering Chizuru Ichinosie’s big secret. All it takes is one phone call to Kazuya and Chizuru’s respective grandmas and the facade (if it is still one) is destroyed.
