On the Disc:
Sentai’s ‘Teasing Master Takagi-San: The Movie‘ Blu-ray features Takagi and Nishikata overlooking their town at night time on the disc. Alluding to the film’s firefly search in the main plot and later epilogue scene.
‘Teasing Master Takagi-San: The Movie’ Blu-ray Front and Back Covers – Closeups
The front cover shows the same artwork of Nishikata and Takagi that was featured on the film’s official website footer previously.
The back cover shows Nishikata and Takagi enjoying time with Flower (or Hana in Japanese) the cat. Flower/Hana is voiced by Christina Kelly of Food Wars! (Alice Nakiri) and Golden Time (Kouko Kaga) in the English Dub.
After Inserting the Blu-ray Disc
You’ll see a HIDIVE advertisement and Sentai’s logo before the disc launches. Yuiko Ohara’s song “Hajimari no Natsu” plays on the Blu-ray’s menu select screen. The on-screen art matches the Blu-ray cover.
There are five menu options: Play the main film, Switch between the English dub and the Japanese original for audio, Scene select (important to review future epilogue), a Japanese Promo ad for the movie, and Sentai’s disc credits.
Did you know? Yuiko Ohara also did the opening themes for Teasing Master Takagi-san Season 1 “Iwanai Kedo ne“, Season 2 “Zero Centimeter“, and Season 3 “Massugu” among other tracks for the series.
-> You can watch the English dubbed Teasing Master Takagi-San: The Movie with some of Sarah Wiedenheft’s best voice work as Takagi or the Japanese original with English subtitles.

Epilogue Scene
-> The first time you’ll complete the film’s credits you’ll be greeted with a future epilogue scene where Takagi and Nishikata are adults walking with their daughter Chi.
The film does the reveal slowly making you think it’s a past scene where Takagi is a child as the parents’ faces are shrouded in shadows, looking for fireflies. Literally, teasing its own audience before showing Takagi and Nishikata.
If you’re a long time fan of this series… You’ll definitely want the ease of replaying the epilogue and capture all the details you missed in the moment! All without needing to forward through the movie credits again.
Especially, to see Nishikata being teased by both his daughter Chi and Takagi together in the future.

Conclusion: 5 out of 5 stars for the Blu-ray quality and the movie itself, which is fantastically written.
Sarah Wiedenheft’s excellent voice acting in the final scene pre-epilogue when Takagi cries and shivers and is comforted by Nishikata (Bryson Baugus) is worth seeing the dub on its own. We’ll have a full fledged separate review of the movie plot later this week.
If you want to avoid resellers you should head on over to Sentai and order the Blu-ray today on its very release date 2/28/23. The film’s runtime is 72 minutes.
Review Score: 5 out of 5 stars
