Better Call Saul’s Season 5 Premiere episode “Magic Man” airs Sunday, February 23 on AMC at 10:05 p.m. ET. You can catch Jimmy’s latest chapter (or rather Saul Goodman’s!) online at AMC’s official live stream or with a free seven-day trial from FuboTV. Don’t forget that Better Call Saul’s next Season 5 episode “50%” will also air this following Monday, February 24 at 9 p.m. ET! AMC is going all out with a two-night special to start off the season, on-top of their cornerstone The Walking Dead returning on Sunday.
“Magic Man” will also be available the day after airing on AMC.com. Catch up on previous seasons of Better Call Saul on Netflix if you’re a subscriber, or purchase individual episodes/prior seasons on Amazon. A new option to watch “Magic Man” ad-less is AMC’s Premiere service, which does require a TV provider to login with (not open to Comcast/Xfinity customers at the moment). It has a subscription fee of $4.99 a month or a regular price of $59.99 annually. * It’s currently $29.49 annually on what looks to be a limited time deal to promote The Walking Dead but might extend for a while.
The sneak peek for Better Call Saul’s Season 5 Premiere above has Jimmy McGill legally changing his name to Saul Goodman… Much to the bewilderment of Kim Wexler. Despite being puzzled by Jimmy’s decision to change his name, she doesn’t disapprove of the move. However, Jimmy’s business angle of keeping his old clients doesn’t seem to be the primary reason Kim doesn’t tell him to “slow his roll.”
“I thought I wasting a year of my life! It wasn’t a waste. It was for this!” It appears Kim simply wants Jimmy to be happy post-Chuck’s passing… To take any steps necessary for Jimmy to leap out of the abyss that threatens to pull him back down at any second. The shadow of his brother always looming over the name McGill. Interpretive emotional reasoning rather than Jimmy’s business impulsive logic of “They call the guy they already know!”
Now doing business as Saul Goodman, Jimmy unveils an unorthodox strategy for client development that tests Kim’s tolerance of his new legal persona; Lalo searches for the mysterious Michael, only to discover a problem within his own operation.
“Magic Man” is written by Better Call Saul co-creators Vince Gilligan & Peter Gould and directed by Bronwen Hughes. Director Bronwen Hughes also directed episode 10 of The Walking Dead this season for AMC.
