Lopez vs Lopez Episode 18 Recap, Goosey Cast, NBC Stream
Chance has a school yard fight over who’s the stronger Pokémon, Snorlax or Charizard, on ‘Lopez vs Lopez’ Episode 18. A parenting style debate breaks out between Mayan and Rosie over the effectiveness of emotional manipulation to keep children honest.
George Lopez is a one-liner machine in “Lopez vs Goosey” with the top classic line, “Being a good parent is tough… Which is why I’ve avoided it!” The effectiveness of one-liners this episode is reminiscent of comedy legend Mitch Hedberg.

“Lopez vs Goosey” Plot Recap
Chance (Brice Gonzalez) really shows off his acting skills in this episode, fooling the family into believing he’d been bullied at school. When in fact it was he that threw the first punch!
George, being suspicious that Chance is a chip off his ‘ole grandfather, decides to personally interrogate him.
The Lopez patriarch tells Mayan and Rosie to ‘keep their earrings on’ before they get all the facts!
Chance admits to punching another boy and later confesses it was over a heated Pokémon debate. Mayan however, refuses to follow in her mother’s footsteps of emotional manipulation to settle the situation.
Reminding Rosie that telling her “The baby Jesus would cry if she didn’t put her crayons away” as a child was wrong… And that’s why she’s in therapy now.
Instead, Mayan goes new-age parenting and introduces Goosey… A pair of googly toy eyes on her hand to speak to Chance.
Quinten & Mayan believe the tactic to be a success as Chance apologizes for the punching incident and promises to never do it again.
Mayan celebrates the win by forcing George to give up his ‘unofficial’ cable box… So he can’t watch boxing with Chance anymore. Seeing it as the source of Chance’s bad influence.
George tells Quinten if they return that to the cable company, they’ll go to jail. Quinten answers, “Still better than trying to call and cancel Spectrum!” Brutal, brutal roast of Spectrum right there.
Meanwhile, Mayan tries to convince Rosie to go to her therapist so she can show that her mother is real… And not ‘a mishmash of Disney villains’ from her mind. In turn, Rosie claims to go so she can use it against Mayan in yet another act of manipulation.
When Rosie admits to George she’s been lying about the whole therapy thing, George remarks, “You’re worse than a Disney villain… You’re a telenovela villain!”
Chance would ‘privately’ confess to George that his apologies are a whole big charade. He only tells Mayan and Quinten what they want to hear so he can do what he wants afterwards. Proceeding to literally punch George below the belt.
George informs Mayan and Quinten of the truth and the pair confront Chance after he breaks a lamp. Chance tries to squirm his way out of it by telling his parents, “He wuvvs them” and Quinten is won over… But not Mayan, who resorts to Rosie’s method.
Mayan sternly tells Chance that his grandfather George will be moving out because he’s a bad influence on him. In a moment of honesty, Chance pleads with his mother to let George stay, saying that George is his best friend. Mayan and Quinten can’t take it and admit bluffing.
However, they punish Chance by taking away his screens (phone, tablet) for a week.
George and Chance scheme against Mayan & Quinten by wanting to spend all their free time with them. The pair relent and give Chance his tablet back and George his cable back. Mission accomplished.
Chance & George salute each other as war heroes over this battle of entertainment attrition.
