The Lakers played absolutely suffocating defense in the post, reducing the Trail Blazers to taking contested three after contested three in an attempt to play catch up.

Damian Lillard was uncharacteristically off from beyond the arch to finish the game, and CJ McCollum’s drives into the lane for 28 points (12-25) to finish the fourth quarter were not enough to offset an efficient LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The Lakers’ Anthony Davis finished with 29 points on 11 of 19 shooting while LeBron James finished with 38 points on 11 of 18 shooting.

The Trail Blazers’ Jusuf Nurkić was unable to get things going in the post offensively, finishing with 10 points on 4 of 10 shooting. Nurkić might be playing too many minutes (35 last game), and Hassan Whiteside might need to play more to keep Nurkić fresh going into the fourth quarter.
