The Los Angeles Lakers have won 3 of 4 of their regular season matches against the Denver Nuggets this year, including a bubble win on August 10th… But the Nuggets have elevated their game to another level these NBA Playoffs, come back from being down 3-1, not once but twice! Who will take the first win of the NBA Western Conference Finals? Find out by watching an NBA live stream of Game 1 online at TNTDrama.com!
Recap of last regular season game between Lakers and Nuggets:
In the Los Angeles Lakers last regular season matchup with the Denver Nuggets on August 10th, they won the bout 124-121. Both teams did most of their damage in the paint with the Nuggets being slightly higher at 56 to 54 points in the paints for the Lakers. The Lakers and the Nuggets equaled each others rebounds 42-42 in that game.
The Lakers had three players score over 20 points with LeBron James (29), Anthony Davis (27), and Kyle Kuzma (25) combining for 81 points, Mamba style. The Nuggets had superior bench scoring with four players in double figures scoring 61 points to the Lakers’ 28 points off the bench. Nikola Jokić had 12 points that game and Jamal Murray had 14 points. It’s unlikely the Lakers will hold down either of the Nuggets’ cornerstones to those numbers tonight, especially given the team’s momentum and each player’s surging confidence & great play throughout the playoffs.
Denver Nuggets Coach Mike Malone commented, that the ‘Nuggets can’t be satisfied just facing the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Finals,’ according to ESPN.
Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokić commented “I mean, even when we beat the Clippers, they were talking how the Clippers lost. They don’t think about us. Not even the Lakers, not even anybody,” according to ESPN. You can tell this is going to fuel the Nuggets’ collective game and motivate them on the court tonight. It’s a pretty good bet Jokić and Murray will have big numbers to open the series. Will it be enough against LeBron James and Anthony Davis? The duo has been shutting teams down in the fourth quarter these playoffs.
But this time they’ll see Nikola Jokić posting up with great passing game to the perimeter (Jamal Murray), rather than a mostly perimeter based offense of James Harden & Russell Westbrook and Damian Lillard & CJ McCollum.
