When the Denver Nuggets rebound the ball well against the Los Angeles Lakers, they give themselves a chance to win. For the first time in three games against the Lakers, Nikola Jokić grabbed double digit boards (10). On the other side of the court, Anthony Davis was held to just 2 rebounds…
In Charles Barkley’s words on TNT’s post-game commentary, “Anthony Davis should never have 2 rebounds!” That is if the Lakers expect to win of course! Will the Nuggets continue controlling the glass tonight? Find out by watching an NBA live stream of Game 4 online at TNTDrama.com!
After climbing out of two 3-1 deficits in a row, it looked like lady luck was about to change for the Nuggets after their heart breaking loss in Game 2. Anthony Davis’ buzzer beating three pointer after Jokić’s 11 straight points in the closing moments was like pushing a rock on a hill… Only for it to roll right back all the way to the bottom.
Yet, the Denver Nuggets resiliently pushed back against the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 3 with Jamal Murray scoring 28 points on 10 of 17 shooting. Murray also dished out a game high 12 assists and pulled down 8 rebounds. Jerami Grant scored 26 points on 7 of 11 shooting, including 12 trips to the free throw line, 10 converted. ‘The Joker’ Nikola Jokić had 22 points of his own along with 10 boards and 5 dimes.
LeBron James had a team high 11 assists on the other side of the court along with 30 points, and 10 boards. Rajon Rondo had 9 assists for the Lakers in Game 3 off the bench. Anthony Davis had 27 points but an uncharacteristic 2 rebounds, 0 blocks, and going 0-4 from beyond the arch.
Davis’ 27 points can thus, be said to be somewhat deceiving for one of the best players in the game. Charles Barkley commented as such on TNT’s Inside the NBA. The Nuggets finished with 53 rebounds to the Lakers’ 34 which obviously made a major impact.
The NBA Finals loom with the Eastern Conference Finals all but wrapped up with the Miami Heat up 3-1… If the Heat close the Celtics out, they’ll face either Jokić & Murray or James & Davis for the trophy. Great NBA TV awaits either way!
