The Utah Jazz defeated the LA Clippers 2 out of 3 meetings in the regular season. Jazz guard Mike Conley however, will be out for the Game 1 playoff opener against the Clippers. Conley’s reliable, playoff veteran play was key to eliminating the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round. Expect Joe Ingles to be one of the primary playmakers for the Jazz with Conley out.

Conley is dealing with a mild right hamstring strain, so he should be back at some point this playoff series. He was able to practice in portions of Monday’s Jazz practice. Conley averaged 17.4 points, 8.6 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game against his former team in the first round.

The Los Angeles Clippers’ Serge Ibaka is doubtful to play in Game 1 against the Jazz. Ibaka has been dealing with back issues throughout the playoffs. However, it’s possible Ibaka will be back soon. The Clippers really need the veteran center this series to match up against Rudy Gobert in the post.

When it comes to the free throw line, the Utah Jazz averaged 84.7% with 26.2 attempts per game through the first round. Meanwhile, the LA Clippers averaged 84.1% on 23.4 free throw attempts per game against the Mavs.
