NBA Streams: Clippers vs Suns Playoffs

Los Angeles Clippers superstar Kawhi Leonard is out for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals with a right knee injury. Clippers Head Coach Tyronn Lue is unsure of his status for Game 2. Leonard is said to be rehabbing at home at the moment and did not travel to Arizona. So the door is not closed on Leonard’s return to the playoffs yet.

With Chris Paul being out due to COVID protocols and Kawhi Leonard’s knee injury, the WCF’s will begin without the two teams’ lead franchise players. Surreal.

Charles Barkley spoke extensively on Paul’s health & safety protocols indefinite suspension on Inside the NBA last night. The former Suns 1993 MVP cited that it’s been ten days around since the initial Paul announcement. Barkley feels concern for ‘his Suns’ potentially losing their best chance at NBA Finals contention.

The regular season was already teeming with injuries… But Paul being out due to COVID safety protocols and Kawhi’s injury has sent a haymaker direct at both teams. Whoever can roll with the punches best will be in the NBA finals.

The matchup to watch of course will be Paul George vs Devin Booker. Both have been on an absolute tear. Booker’s play led to last year’s Champion LA Lakers being eliminated and the Denver Nuggets being swept sans Jamal Murray.

On the opposite side of the court, Paul George managed to closeout the #1 seed Utah Jazz without Kawhi Leonard. Plus, the Clippers have the momentum going in with stellar play from Terance Mann and Reggie Jackson. Mann is coming off a career playoff high, 39 points.

The status of Chris Paul’s health and Kawhi Leonard’s knee (potential ACL injury) will be looming all series long… But the Clippers have proven they can win without Leonard, and win big. The Suns might be in disarray without Paul’s calming presence on the floor.

Will the young Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton hold the fort at Phoenix Suns arena? We’ll soon find out. The league has stated news regarding Paul’s NBA Health and Safety suspension will have further updates when appropriate.
