ClayFighter officially returning on SEGA Genesis Mini 2 in October

The Evercade rerelease was just the beginning, ClayFighter will remerge once again on the SEGA Genesis Mini 2 on October 27, 2022.

It’s been 24 years since ClayFighter: Sculptor’s Cut was released as a BlockBuster rental exclusive on May 15, 1998. Since then the franchise has lied mostly dormant with the original Sega Genesis edition being rereleased on the Wii Virtual Console in 2009.

In 2020, the original ClayFighter was rereleased on the niche Evercade handheld console as part of an Interplay collection. This time using the SNES version. Now Bad Mr. Frosty is finally returning to where it all started in the 16-bit days on the SEGA Genesis Mini 2.

ClayFighter is joining 59 other titles on the upcoming redesigned Genesis mini console. A full list is available below, which also includes SEGA CD exclusives and previously unreleased prototypes. * Notice SNK’s Fatal Fury 2 and Capcom’s Super Street Fighter 2 as the other big fighting games.
