The Rent-a-Girlfriend Blu-rays have the limited edition branding on the discs themselves which feature Chizuru Mizuhara for Disc 1 and Mami Nanami on Disc 2.
There’s also new Chizuru Mizuhara cover art on the Blu-ray case itself. It’s different from the ‘Complete Collection‘ edition released prior.
The first disc contains episodes #1-9 of the series. You’ll see a HIDIVE advertisement and Sentai’s logo before the disc launches. Season 1 Opening theme “Centimeter” by the peggies plays on the main episode select screen.
Chizuru Mizuhara is featured on the main screen. The Blu-ray video quality for the episodes is superb and sharp. There’s little visual background details you might have missed while streaming that are now noticable.
There are three language options: dubbed English, dubbed English with subtitles, and Japanese audio with English subtitles. ‘Dubbed English with subtitles’ is selected by default when you turn on the Blu-ray for the first time.
We watched the Rent-a-Girlfriend limited edition Blu-ray on a PlayStation 5 and found the yellow subtitle font to be a good size, even when viewed from a distance. The set is accessibility friendly.
Disc 2 features episodes #10-12 and a Special Features section. Mami Nanami is featured on the main screen with the peggies’ “Centimeter” also the background theme for the menu. Both discs contain the HIDIVE and Sentai promos prior to the menu menu launching if you’re curious.
In the Special Features section you’ll find a clean series opening animation and a clean closing animation. The animations (sans text distractions) really are gorgeous to watch. It’s a nice bonus.
Sumi Sakurasawa is on the front cover of the Extras Box while Ruka Sarashina is the back alternate cover. The artwork on both covers is fantastic.
One of the first items in the Extras Box is an acrylic phone stand. It looks nice, feels kind of like glass at first despite being a type of plastic. Be sure to slide in the bookmark looking stand and twist it afterwards so it’s properly aligned on both sides.
Four sets of stickers are available for a total of 16 individual stickers. These all have the same designs for Chizuru Mizuhara, Mami Nanami, Ruka Sarashina, and Sumi Sakurasawa.
There’s also a button set of Chizuru Mizuhara, Mami Nanami, Ruka Sarashina, and Sumi Sakurasawa in the Extras Box.
In-between the Rent-a-Girlfriend limited edition Blu-ray and the Extras Box you’ll find a red art book.
There’s an episode list to start with full descriptions for each episode and an episode thumbnail, Crunchyroll style on the side.
There’s mini bios for each character, for example Chizuru Mizuhara below. You’ll see various personality traits.
In the Ruka Sarashina example below, you’ll see on the right side there’s a ‘Style Check’ section. The fashion styling is available for all 4 girls.
Afterwards, there’s a more traditional artwork section. Below you’ll see an example of Chizuru Mizuhara and Mami Nanami.
Yes, that’s the same iconic Chizuru artwork as on the cover of the ‘Complete Collection’ Blu-ray.
You’ll also see Ruka Sarashina and Sumi Sakurasawa.
The front cover of Sentai’s Rent-a-Girlfriend limited edition box set features none other than Kazuya Kinoshita’s central love interest Chizuru Mizuhara and the determined Ruka Sarashina.
The back cover features Kazuya’s ex Mami Nanami and the shy Sumi Sakurasawa.

Conclusion: If you’re a big Rent-a-Girlfriend fan, you’ll love this limited edition collector’s item. We give it 5 out of 5 stars at The Natural Aristocrat for the excellent artwork. It’s sure to become a rare collector’s item as the years go by.
If you want to avoid resellers you should head on over to Sentai and pre-order the Blu-ray premium box set now before its August 30, 2022 release date.
