Just bring back the “Low Rider” theme song and Lopez vs Lopez is complete. For George Lopez show fans returning to NBC on Fridays, you’ll be happy to know George has still got it. Impeccable comedy timing in Episode 10.
This Lopez vs Lopez review contains minor spoilers for Episode 10, “Lopez vs Los Doyers”.
Comfort TV is the best way to describe Lopez vs Lopez Episode 10. Just like ‘The George Lopez Show’ before it, the premise is easy to follow, has edgier jokes than you’ll see on most networks in prime time, and a relaxed atmosphere. It’s old school comedy meant to play up stereotypes in a fun way for a laugh before the world got so serious.

Quinten (Matt Shively), the fully progressive white guy is trying hard to fit in with girlfriend Mayan Lopez’s father George. Through a sheer twist of fate, George needs one more player for fantasy baseball, and gives Quinten a chance. Sensing Quinten as an easy mark with no knowledge of baseball to make an easy $20 (or more) from.
Mayan trains Quinten in the ways of latin masculinity to fit in, telling him she’s half George herself.
Though Quinten falters at first with his cheat sheet at the fantasy draft, when George’s pal Momo (Momo Rodriguez) uses it as a tissue to blow his nose on… Quinten guesses a pick correctly and is soon rewarded with the affectionate nickname Q-Ball after ‘manspreading’ upside down for a brewski.

Quinten or Q-Ball thrives on the attention and appears to discover a new ultra masculine side of himself. After continuing a joke where George commented on a baseball player running like a girl, Mayan feels she’s created a ‘toxic’ monster. Initially, she’s told by Rosie (Selenis Leyva) to relent and let the boys bond.
