This Your Honor Season 2 Episode 10 recap contains major spoilers for “Part Twenty”. The Series Finale episode.
On the final Your Honor, Michael Desiato sticks true to his word… Nothing but the whole truth.
The disbarred judge reveals he’d seen Eugene Jones before in his chambers. Where he paid $500 dollars to get back an autographed baseball that had belonged to his son Adam. The baseball had been in the backseat of the judge’s car before it was ‘stolen’.
Judge Desiato then remarks that’s how he’s able to fully detail Eugene as the shooter down to his clothes… Despite seeing him for a few seconds during the shooting of his son Adam Desiato.
Michael Desiato then holds nothing back… Revealing out in the open that his son Adam was the one involved in the hit & run that killed Rocco Baxter. Not Kofi Jones.
An emotional cross examination of Eugene Jones brings about a short recess. Eugene Jones had spoken about how his family had names, ‘they weren’t just a mother and her children’. He also spoke about how they ate pickle juice and sometimes cereal as they didn’t have means.
Desiato tells Lee Delamere outside the court room about how they can use food to their advantage… In the court room, Lee questions Eugene Jones if he ever had eggs for breakfast?
Eugene replies “No… Because we didn’t have the money for gas. We hadn’t paid the gas bills in months.”
Thus, no gas leak as the source of the fire that killed Eugene Jones’ family. Eugene apologizes to Michael Desiato before leaving the court for Adam’s death, and Michael likewise apologizes.
Olivia Delmont is moved by Eugene’s story and gets him state protection and his freedom.
At first, despite the good news, Eugene is hurt by the idea of losing his name and having to leave Houston. Remarking “It’s all I have left of my family.”
However, Olivia tells him for the rest of his life “his heart will skip a beat when he hears the name Eugene Jones.” But he will still always be Eugene Jones no matter where he’ll be.
Fia Baxter is disgusted by Michael hiding the truth about Adam killing Rocco away from her. But she is completely devastated when she learns the Baxter family is responsible for the death of an innocent family in a fire.
At first, her mother Gina Baxter and grandfather Carmine Conti essentially hold Fia’s child hostage. Refusing to give her son back until she “calms down.”
When Fia Baxter does get her son back, she gives him to the church to adopt. Unable to live with the fact the love of her life and the father of her child also killed her brother Rocco in a hit & run.
Meanwhile, an offer by Big Mo to sell the club leads Gina Baxter down a new path. One she sees without Jimmy Baxter in it. She convinces her father Carmine Conti that Jimmy needs to be taken out, that he will turn on her.
Carmine shoots him twice, once in the chest and the stomach and leaves him for dead. Commenting, “You were never my family.” The incident is caught on security cameras and the next time we see Carmine he is an in orange jumpsuit. Presumably in prison.
Gina Baxter buys the club from Big Mo and says she can sell her product anywhere except on her street. There is a parting shot of Gina Baxter overlooking the club closing with a smile from a balcony with her son Carlo Baxter.
In a big surprise, Jimmy Baxter is shown in the hospital with an oxygen mask and miraculously wakes up! Eyes open.
The very last shot of the Your Honor series finale episode shows Michael Desiato entering the grounds of a state prison. It seems he fully turned himself in to the authorities.
Prior, Michael throws the autographed baseball he had purchased from Eugene Jones into the ocean.
