NYCC 2023: Emma Caulfield Ford felt safety in not being judged based on her looks when voice acting for Audible on series, Slayers: A Buffyverse Story.

Commenting that it’s not about your “shelf life” and if “they still wanna have sex with you.”

The following commentary took place during a press roundtable alongside actress Charisma Carpenter at New York Comic Con 2023.

EMMA CAULFIELD FORD: I think there’s a certain safety in not having it be about what you look like, ever. For women especially, we are highly judged by our physical appearance and the shelf life. Do they still wanna have sex with you? You know, all that stuff.

We’re so much more than that! So, you know, hopefully my voice turns you on! (laughs) But it’s not going to be the face. It’s not going to be the body.
