Review: Relationships don’t wither hiding in the shadows, it’s when they bask in the full glory of the sun. Mayan Lopez and Quinten Van Bryan find their ‘perfect’ relationship torn petal by petal under the hot spotlight in the Lopez vs Lopez Season 3 Premiere.

How well do you know your partner? It’s a simple question that presides over the heart of “Lopez vs Wedding” and can hurt like stepping over thumbtacks.
You didn’t know the jagged thumbtacks were there, laying openly in the floor in front of you. But all you ever had to do was look down… And communicate.
During a gameshow for couples, Quinten and Mayan discover their love can fall out of sync and need extensive buffering. Quinten never thought Mayan might have an issue with taking on his last name ‘Van Bryan’ in marriage. But alas, she does.

The pair reject George and Rosie’s visions for their wedding early on, despite the realization they have no actual vision of their own. Mayan and Quinten have been procrastinating their future, patching issues with masking tape, year by year. Now there’s no more tape left.
Rebelling against George and Rosie’s wedding ideas was another chance to unite and delay their forever day just a bit more. A distraction masquerading under independence. In turn, George and Rosie’s pirate-like attempt to grab the steering wheel of Mayan’s relationship back in control backfires.

The simmering rays of the gameshow’s limelight expose the unspoken cracks of the couple. The assumptions and expectations. Freshly cleaned out of storage of a forgotten attic for a closer examination ‘someday’.
Well ‘someday’ is here for Mayan and Quinten. And thanks to George and Rosie, it arrives under the public scrutiny of gameshow audience laughter.
