Call of the Night Anime Dub: Episode 1 Recap – First Flight
Vampire Nazuna Nanakusa took teenager Kou Yamori on his first Flight in the premiere episode of HIDIVE’s ‘Call of the Night’ Anime Dub.

Call of the Night started off with Kou Yamori (Kō Yamori) sneaking out for a late night stroll, unable to sleep, reminiscing about rejecting a girl in the day… And being scolded for it by his fellow classmates. Yamori had told her he didn’t see ‘the point in dating’.

The sleepless teen (14-years old) would go to a vividly lit vending machine to buy an alcoholic drink when a hooded Nazuna Nanakusa spotted him. Noticing his young age.

Kou immediatley panicked, trying to convince Nazuna he wasn’t intending to buy it. Nazuna however, smiled and told Kou to relax and that she wouldn’t turn him in. That the ‘night was for fun’.

Nazuna would then show Kou some late night drunks waiting at the bus stop, almost passed out… And high five them all.

Kou, impressed by Nazuna’s confidence would attempt the same, only to be puked on by one of the drunks.

Vampiric Sleepover

Nazuna convinced Kou Yamori to come sleep over at her place, in her words, ‘just two people sleeping next to each other. Nothing lewd.’ Kou finding Nazuna to be a relaxing presence, obliged despite being nervous.

He pretended to fall asleep and Nazuna would ask three times if he’s still awake before giving in to her vampire hunger.

She briefly bit Kou’s neck, going into sheer ectasy at his blood’s ‘sweetness’…

Asking herself ‘Why it tasted so good?!’

Kou would then drop the act and Nazuna claimed a mosquito had bitten him. He didn’t believe the claim, saying Nazuna still had blood on her lips. So Nazuna casually dropped the story.

Falling in love with a vampire to turn into one

Instead of anger however, Kou Yamori demanded to know why the bite hadn’t made him a vampire too yet! Nazuna Nanakusa couldn’t stop blushing as she revealed a human must fall in love with a vampire before being bit to become one. In her words, “offspring”.
Nazuna tried to change the subject, saying her ‘beer was so yummy!’ and that’s why she was turning red. Kou borderline pleads with Nazuna to let him fall in love with her so he can become a vampire.

She comments that he’s ‘being ridiculous’ and it’s not her policy to ‘create offspring’. Telling Kou ‘just so you know, I’m not going to fall in love with you. If you fall for me, that’s your deal’.
1st Night: First Flight

Nazuna then takes an elevator to the top of a skyscraper with Kou and kicks him off the building…

Only to surprise him by catching him. She would then carry Kou into his 1st flight as the credits rolled. Kou found the night beautiful.
