Singer AleXa Interview: “I don’t do anything to protect my voice”

Interview: Singer AleXa revealed to The Natural Aristocrat® that she doesn’t ‘really do anything to protect her voice’ during New York Comic Con 2023.

THE NATURAL ARISTOCRAT (NIR REGEV): As a singer, how do you protect your voice and does the method lend itself for voice acting as well?

TONY REVOLORI: I’m curious about that myself…

AleXa: This is a great question actually! I feel like the Internet’s gonna hate me for this, but I don’t really do anything to protect my voice! (laughs)

I just drink like a lot of water. I mean tea, yes, because tea is very important… But that’s the thing… I don’t really do warmups.

TONY REVOLORI: See what she just said was, ‘I can belt on command. She’s Mariah Carey on command!’

AleXa: (laughs) No, he lies! Don’t listen to Tony. He lies.

TONY REVOLORI: What have I ever said that was a lie?

AleXa: That I’m Maria Carey on command.

TONY REVOLORI: You said you don’t do warmups, so you can belt it at any point. If someone wanted me to sing notes at karaoke, I need a warmup. Get drunk and then karaoke.

AleXa: The alcohol’s an optional step. Not good for your voice, but it makes you sound great!

TONY REVOLORI: In your own head!

AleXa: Yeah! (laughs)

TONY REVOLORI: This is going so great. I love it. What would be JUGGERNAUT’s karaoke song?

AleXa: Oh my gosh! Okay. I feel like she would really like, for some reason
“The Final Countdown” by Europe. You know what song that is?

TONY REVOLORI: Obviously. Yeah, I know. I see it.

AleXa: Or she would like, oh my god, what the hell is the name of that song? “Last Resort” by Papa Roach!

THE NATURAL ARISTOCRAT: That’s a great one! Did you hear the remix recently by Falling in Reverse?

AleXa: No… But I feel like she would just love to be screaming. “It’s the Final Countdown, cut my life into pieces!” (laughs)

TONY REVOLORI: I like that.

AleXa: What would digital- Lee’s Karaoke song be?

TONY REVOLORI: (laughs) Digitally it’d be either like Darude “Sand storm”! No singing, or like “Tequila”.

THE NATURAL ARISTOCRAT: That’s a classic too.

TONY REVOLORI: I used to always hear it ’cause I was of the age where anytime anyone commented on the internet… Maybe youth don’t remember this. (laughs)

THE NATURAL ARISTOCRAT: It was a meme, I remember.

TONY REVOLORI: Yeah, it was a meme. Anytime anyone commented, ‘What song is this?’ you would respond to it, ‘Darude – Sandstorm’! So everyone constantly went to Darude “Sandstorm”, it was great.

THE NATURAL ARISTOCRAT: Rick Astley “Never Gonna Give You Up” replaced it eventually.

TONY REVOLORI: I know, I wonder what happened to that? And now we ALSO have like Shazam (the app). So it’s like no one’s asking the question.

Yeah. Times of change. But yeah, no, I don’t think Lee’s actually singing. I think he’ll be like, Tequila! (laughs)
